In the early 1990′s, became the first Professor of Rock Drums at the Royal Academy of Music, in London.
Session experience also includes advertising jingles and TV shows too numerous to list, and programming drum computers and MIDI sequencers.
Other achievements include work as a consultant for the Mill Studios, Cookham, during the late 1980′s, and work with Premier Percussion, as a development consultant for their drum products. Used by Mark of the Unicorn (www.motu.com) as a beta tester for their Digital Performer software and hardware interfaces.
Work as a composer includes 3 albums of theme tunes & jingles with bass player, Andy Pask. One of these tracks was chosen as the theme for UK blockbuster TV series, ‘The Bill’. Also collaborated with both Andy Pask and guitarist, Nigel Jenkins, on new tracks, as well as co-writing tracks with Elton John keyboard technician, Tom Pearce, who now has a well-established jingle and computer game company in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
Between 1996 and 1999, was co-owner and partner in Black Barn Studios, a small residential set in the English countryside, just South of London, as well as co-owner and partner in record label, Bridge Recordings Ltd.
Also worked as an expert witness on several high-profile legal battles in the High Court in London, on behalf of several notable legal firms.

With six albums and five world tours, Charlie was Elton John's drummer for thirteen years.
